So A Guy And A Girl Walk Into A Bar…
One of the main things I get asked by viewers who either post on the site or email me directly is “besides a bar, where should I go to meet men/women”.
So here’s the thing. When you are looking to meet someone in a bar or nightclub the pressure (and anxiety) is already heightened because you’re on the hunting ground. Lots of people there are on the prowl so girls are expecting you to impress them with a clever opener and a smooth approach. Sheesh! You’re stepping up to the plate with a runner on third who’s expecting you to bring him home! (As mentioned before I’m a big baseball fan)
So maybe start thinking outside the box. Go to the clubs to just dance, have a few drinks and some laughs, but not to hook-up. (Ironically that attitude is really attractive) And at the same time keep your eyes open in other non-traditional places where these same awesome girls happen to be…but don’t have their guard up waiting to grade you on your game.
And I mean ANY place!
You could even spot the girl of your dreams in the feminine hygiene isle at the local drug store…wander up beside her and grab two different brands and say “you know, I just can’t decide which one of these would fit me better.” Odds are she will either laugh, smile or walk away, but my guess is it would be one of the first two.
And for the ladies out there? I always find you have a lot better chance of striking up a conversation if you flash a sweet flirty smile with a simple hello. Any guy, if he is interested, is a sucker for a smile that makes their heart melt. It’s an easy way to open the door for potential conversation.
So think of the things you love to do. Stay in your comfort zone and pay attention to other potential partners that share the same zone.
A cooking class, co-ed sports team, an animal shelter, art class, music class, graphic design class, running group, dance class, kite flying lessons - anything you can possibly think of!
And remember it’s more about where you are on the inside than where you are on the outside.
But that’s for another show.
peace
