One thing to also consider is rooming with a pre-existing friend, and how that affects the relationship. Living with someone obviously means that you spend a LOT of time with them, and you really get to see that person in a way that you probably wouldn’t otherwise. You pick up on all their little quirks and habits, and sometimes this can actually hurt your friendship! One of my best friends and I decided to room together (to combat the ridiculousness that is rent in NYC) and unfortunately our relationship has never quite been the same since.

i totally agree with you…i actually warn against living with a close friend…i lived with a very close friend for a little under 4 years and it ruined our friendship
